Effective Date: 15 June 2026

Business Name: PupGlide

Email Address: gerickestephan507@gmail.com

1. Overview

We are committed to supplying high-quality resistance bands and fitness accessories. This Returns, Refunds and Warranty Policy is governed by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA"), and all applicable South African laws.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights that consumers have under South African law.

15 June 2026

2. Change-of-Mind Returns

Because resistance bands are fitness products that may be stretched, worn, damaged, contaminated, or otherwise affected by use, we do not accept returns simply because a customer has changed their mind, ordered the wrong item, no longer wants the product, or found it cheaper elsewhere.

Any change-of-mind return accepted by us is entirely at our discretion and does not create a legal obligation to accept future returns.

If we approve a discretionary return:

  • The request must be submitted within 14 days of delivery.
  • The product must be unused, unopened, and in its original packaging.
  • The product must be in a resalable condition.
  • Proof of purchase must be provided.
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
  • A reasonable handling or restocking fee may be deducted where permitted by law.

3. Used Products

For health, safety, and quality-control reasons, products that have been:

  • Opened,
  • Used,
  • Stretched,
  • Installed,
  • Modified,
  • Damaged,
  • Marked,
  • Exposed to excessive heat, sunlight, chemicals, or moisture,

may not be returned for a discretionary refund.

This restriction does not apply where the CPA grants a consumer a statutory right to return defective goods.

4. Defective or Faulty Products

In accordance with Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, consumers may return products that are defective, unsafe, or fail to meet the standards required by law within six (6) months of delivery.

Where a product is genuinely defective, the customer may choose:

  • Repair;
  • Replacement; or
  • Refund.

We reserve the right to inspect and test returned products to verify the reported defect before approving a claim.

5. Exclusions from Warranty and Defect Claims

The warranty does not apply where damage results from:

  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Improper storage;
  • Incorrect use;
  • Use contrary to instructions;
  • Excessive stretching;
  • Commercial or professional gym use where the product is intended for personal use;
  • Sharp objects, cuts, punctures, abrasions, or accidental damage;
  • Exposure to chemicals, solvents, oils, or cleaning agents;
  • Alterations or modifications;
  • Failure to inspect the product before use;
  • Use after visible signs of deterioration.

Resistance bands are consumable fitness products that naturally degrade over time through normal use. Natural ageing, cosmetic changes, discoloration, and ordinary wear do not constitute defects.

6. Product Inspection Requirement

Customers must inspect products upon delivery.

Any shortages, incorrect items, or visible shipping damage should be reported within 48 hours of delivery together with photographs.

Failure to report visible delivery issues promptly may affect our ability to investigate courier-related claims.

7. Online Orders and Cooling-Off Rights

Where applicable under South African law, customers purchasing online may have statutory cancellation rights under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

If a customer exercises a valid statutory cooling-off right:

  • Goods must be returned in substantially the condition received.
  • The customer bears the direct cost of returning the goods where permitted by law.
  • Refunds will be processed after receipt and inspection of returned goods.

8. Return Process

To request a return, customers must email:

gerickestephan507@gmail.com

and provide:

  • Full name;
  • Order number;
  • Proof of purchase;
  • Description of the issue;
  • Photographs or videos where applicable.

Returns sent without prior approval may be refused.

9. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method.

Refunds may take between 5 and 15 business days to reflect depending on the payment provider and banking institution.

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless required by law.

10. Incorrect Use and Safety Warning

Resistance bands are exercise equipment that operate under tension and may cause injury if used incorrectly.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Inspecting bands before each use;
  • Using products according to instructions;
  • Ensuring secure anchoring before exercise;
  • Replacing products showing signs of wear.

We shall not be liable for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from misuse, improper installation, failure to inspect products, or use contrary to instructions.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our liability shall be limited to the purchase price of the product.
  • We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or economic damages.
  • We shall not be liable for loss of profits, loss of income, loss of opportunity, or business interruption arising from the use of our products.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.

12. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits, excludes, or overrides any rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African legislation.

A further step that would protect you more is to pair this Return Policy with a properly drafted Terms & Conditions, Product Disclaimer, and Waiver of Liability specifically for fitness equipment. Those documents often provide more protection against injury claims and misuse than the return policy itself.

PUPGLIDE RETURNS, REFUNDS AND WARRANTY POLICY

Effective Date: 15 June 2026

This Returns, Refunds and Warranty Policy applies to all purchases made from PupGlide ("we", "our", "us").

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA").

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit, waive, or exclude any rights afforded to consumers under applicable South African law.

1. GENERAL POLICY

At PupGlide, we take pride in supplying high-quality resistance bands and fitness accessories. We encourage customers to carefully review product specifications before placing an order.

Returns and refunds will be handled in accordance with this policy and applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

2. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

PupGlide is not legally required to accept returns where a customer:

  • Changes their mind;
  • Orders the wrong product;
  • No longer wants the product;
  • Finds the product elsewhere at a lower price;
  • Purchases the product by mistake.

As resistance bands are fitness products that may be affected by handling, stretching, storage conditions, and use, PupGlide does not generally accept change-of-mind returns.

Where PupGlide elects to accept a return as a gesture of goodwill:

  • The return request must be submitted within 14 days of delivery;
  • The product must be unused and unopened;
  • The product must be in its original packaging;
  • The product must be in a condition suitable for resale;
  • Proof of purchase must be provided;
  • Original delivery charges are non-refundable;
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer;
  • PupGlide reserves the right to deduct a reasonable handling or restocking fee where permitted by law.

Acceptance of any change-of-mind return remains entirely at PupGlide's discretion.

3. PRODUCTS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR DISCRETIONARY RETURNS

For quality, hygiene and safety reasons, the following products are not eligible for discretionary returns:

  • Opened products;
  • Used products;
  • Stretched resistance bands;
  • Products showing signs of wear;
  • Products with damaged packaging;
  • Products altered or modified after delivery;
  • Products damaged through misuse or improper storage.

This section does not affect any statutory rights a consumer may have under the CPA in relation to defective goods.

4. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND THE CPA WARRANTY

Under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, customers are entitled to return goods that fail to meet the standards of quality required by law within six (6) months of delivery.

Where a product is confirmed to be defective, unsafe, or not reasonably suitable for its intended purpose, the customer may elect one of the following remedies:

  • Repair;
  • Replacement; or
  • Refund.

PupGlide reserves the right to inspect, test, and verify all products returned under a warranty claim before approving any remedy.

5. EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY CLAIMS

The statutory warranty and any additional warranty offered by PupGlide do not apply where damage results from:

  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Product ageing;
  • Excessive stretching;
  • Improper use;
  • Commercial or professional gym use where the product is intended for personal use;
  • Exposure to heat, sunlight, chemicals, oils or solvents;
  • Sharp objects, cuts, punctures or abrasions;
  • Improper storage;
  • Failure to follow instructions;
  • Modifications, repairs or alterations performed by anyone other than PupGlide.

Resistance bands are subject to gradual deterioration through normal use. Such deterioration is not considered a manufacturing defect.

6. DELIVERY ISSUES

Customers must inspect all products upon delivery.

Any claim relating to:

  • Missing items;
  • Incorrect products;
  • Visible courier damage;

must be reported to PupGlide within 48 hours of delivery, together with clear photographs where applicable.

Failure to report visible delivery-related issues within a reasonable time may affect our ability to recover losses from couriers and investigate claims.

7. ONLINE PURCHASES AND COOLING-OFF PERIOD

Where applicable under South African law, customers purchasing products online may exercise any statutory cooling-off rights available under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Customers exercising a valid cooling-off right must:

  • Notify PupGlide in writing within the applicable legal period;
  • Return the goods in substantially the same condition as received;
  • Take reasonable care of the goods until returned.

Where permitted by law, customers will be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

8. RETURN PROCEDURE

To initiate a return request, customers must contact PupGlide before sending any goods back.

Please email:

gerickestephan507@gmail.com

with:

  • Full name;
  • Order number;
  • Proof of purchase;
  • Detailed description of the issue;
  • Supporting photographs or videos where applicable.

Returns sent without prior authorization may be refused.

9. REFUND PROCESSING

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method used for the purchase.

Refund processing times may vary depending on the customer's bank or payment provider.

PupGlide reserves the right to withhold a refund until returned goods have been received and inspected.

10. PRODUCT SAFETY

Resistance bands are exercise products that operate under tension and may cause injury if used incorrectly.

Customers must:

  • Inspect products before every use;
  • Follow all usage instructions;
  • Ensure secure anchoring before exercise;
  • Discontinue use immediately if signs of wear or damage appear.

By using PupGlide products, customers acknowledge the inherent risks associated with exercise equipment.

Consumer Notice: Nothing in this policy limits, excludes, or overrides any rights granted to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable South African legislation.

For maximum protection, I would also recommend adding a fitness equipment liability waiver and a Terms & Conditions of Sale to your website. A return policy alone won't provide much protection against injury claims or chargeback disputes
